As the title says, I am looking for one or more novels (preferably classic) with a love-hate story between the two main characters. I don't want romance to be the center of the story (otherwise it's rubbish) but more something that we follow at the same time as the plot and which is born after prejudices and deep hatred but which always remains repressed or not confessed or poorly expressed, in a context where the characters are enemies and hate each other or even want the death of the other. I want the mystery of action and revenge and preferably I would like the main woman to die because of the main man and that after her loss the one regrets, and goes crazy (and haunted by her) for not having declared his love and for having hurt her. Preferably I would like almost all the characters to die lol. Also I would like a figure of a strong woman (preferably not considered "beautiful" in man's standards but who will end up finding her beautiful) who will make the man she hates admit that she is his scary equal or even the only one who can confront him (I would also like the main male character to also be considered unbeatable or even scary) in short I really want their rage and hatred to be overflowing but a hatred that will bring them together reluctantly. No confrontation in the context of a fight etc. but more psychologically. To give you an example of books that I enjoyed in this theme and which are among my favorite books: “Wuthering heights” “Clara militch”. “Pride and prejudice” No relation but this webtoon falls into the “olgami / trapped” lot
If it's a novel from this period that would be ideal, otherwise I'll take everything as long as it's not too vulgar (s€x, insult, language too vulgar) without fantasy (unless it's in a gothic universe like dracula, ghost etc…) and no new romance!
I want to be frustrated traumatized but without detaching myself from the book
Thank you, I'm waiting for your answers (I'm desperate)
