Fantasy books with a mysterious older brother.

Slightly odd suggestion but I’m looking for action/thriller/fantasy type books where an older brother is involved in some conspiracy or has died/sacrificed himself for some plot development.

I’ve found this is a common trope done best (for me) among dystopian futures and the like but i’m open to other genres if the older brothers are particularly interesting. Don’t have to be really cool or impressive either.

Also please no Brothers Karamazov. Great book but i’m looking for something a little lighter.
