I think this is just growth in reading for me. But I started as a mystery/thriller reader only. I could chug through books because they lacked development and they were just story, story, story. However lately, I'm finding myself let down with the conclusion of a lot of books.

Contrast this to some of the newer books I've gotten into (fantasy & sci-fi), I'm noticing I'm having a lot of examples where I find it more difficult to get lost into the books for hours at a time, but at the end, I'm so much more satisfied with the story.

I'm more of a TV show kind of guy rather than movie, so I'm guessing it has a lot to do with character development. But anyone else out there similar?

    1. Heavier books are harder to get in the zone with because they tax your reading ability. You have to think, you have to remember. You do not have to think to read a James Patterson novel, so you can speed read those.
