I really love stories like Battle Royale and The Hunger Games (never read Divergent cuz I have heard not great things about it). I like the theme of all these people being pitied against each other and only one or a small few survive. I feel like this theme doesn't get a lot of attention in english novels. I've mostly seen it in Japanese mangas (such as Alice in Borderland and Doubt/Judge), but then, there's tons of books I've never read! So what do I know?
A similar book in the same vein (but hardly anyone dies) is Lord of the Flies, if that helps at all for recs.
So please, recommend me your best a-lot-of-people-will-have-to-die-for-things-to-get-solved-and/or-won books. Thank you!

Red Rising
Red Rising by Pierce Brown and its numerous sequels has big Hunger Games vibes but in space.
The Will of the Many by James Islington would also scratch the Hunger Games itch, only the first book in the series is out currently.
Dungeon Crawler Carl by Matt Dinniman also is kind of Hunger Games-esque but LitRPG is not for everyone.
