So I’m 18 and I feel like I haven’t done very much reading outside of what school has forced me to do. I really do like reading but I feel like large books can be a bit intimidating since I often convince myself that I’ll never find the time to finish them. I want to find some smaller works such as short stories, novellas, and zines that I can feel more confident reading and help build up the time management skills needed to actually complete full novels. At the moment I read a lot of graphic novels/comics since those are really easy to sit down and binge but I don’t know how to more forward with traditional literature. I mainly read slice of life, romance, and drama, but I’m also open to reading nonfiction/autobiographies as well as the classics. Some of the last real books I’ve read have been Animal Farm by George Orwell, Miss Major Speaks by Toshio Meronek, and Nick and Charlie by Alice Oseman.
