hey guys i’m looking for a sci fi or fantasy book that has a good plot and good world building, while also having a touching/moving lesson or meaning behind it. for context i am currently on book 4 of the suneater series but i am thinking of taking a break from this series after i finish the 4th book or find a new series or book to read after i finish this one. i’ve read the hobbit, scythe maze runner and some others a while ago and i liked them all. if your suggestion does not fit the sci fi or fantasy criteria but is still fiction with a good moral or meaning to it you can still suggest it. preferably no YA books.

R.A. Salvatore is still writing Drizzt books. They’re set in the D&D Forgotten Realms (and are the inspiration for the Adventures of the Forgotten Realms Magic the Gathering set from a few years ago), and we follow the protagonist Drizzt as he rejects his Dark Elf evil heritage and forges a new path in the world as a compassionate helpful ranger. Naturally, most people see him and associate his lineage with what they expect of him and he has to overcome those prejudices (often failing to do so).
The first trilogy is *Homeland*, *Exile*, and *Sojourn* came out in 1990. There are some 40 books or so set around Drizzt and his adventures/growth, with the most recent having come out in 2023
