My book club needs a book! We are 3 dudes in our early 40s who go on a boat smoke a joint and talk about a book every month. It’s, honestly, the shit. It’s the best. We have very loose rules for books and we rotate every month
    So far We’ve read :
    – the blade itself – meh
    – the white road – meh
    – last murder at the end of the universe – pretty good
    – house of bone and rain – liked it!
    – between two fires – incredible all parties enthused greatly
    – the postmortal – lots of fun
    -project hail mary- big fan
    – the body scout – fun but limited noir
    – black tongue thief & daughters war as a set- we are officially buelheads now

Honestly we usually lean towards shorter books that have something fun to talk about. Would appreciate any recommendations. Thanks all!

Our last rule is 2 out of 3 of us can’t have read it before so they has ruled out some bigger ones.

    1. The Employees by Olga Ravn—I can’t recommend this enough. Very different than what you guys normally read but it’s very short. It’s written in epistolary format. Takes place on a spaceship far from Earth. The ship is near an Earth-like planet and its recovered artifacts from this planet and put them on display in a gallery on the ship. Each interview in the book is from management interviewing various AI robots and humans alike to capture how these objects make them feel. It’s tremendous and very human imo. As the book carries on it becomes harder to discern which interviewees are human and which are AI.
