Looking for another book like child of god where it just kind of follows the character having strange encounters & doing weird stuff. I also liked the overall dark but strangely humorous atmosphere. Anyone know anything similar?
Not nearly as violent or dark, but I think you might enjoy *The Dog of the South* by Charles Portis. The main character’s wife just left him, and while tracking her down, he goes on a surreal journey with a number of odd encounters with strange people. The book is funny, but the main character is serious. It’s Bill Hader’s favorite book.
