I know this is a tough combo, but recently i’ve been hating spice. Like genuinely loathing, lots of times it isn’t even relevant to the plot at all, it’s just filler. idc if it is insinuated or if there’s some kissing and heating up, but nothing open door.
I want to read heartbreaking romance novels preferably with tons of angst and maybe a dystopian world of a sort? I like when books leave me gutted, questioning, and loving and hating the characters at the same time. I’m good with all TWs and honestly prefer books that deal with heavy issues.
i prefer contemporary or futuristic generally, but if you have a good historical recc, i’ll check it out
I like happy endings, but that could be only at the end of the 7th book, as long as when the series is over they are doing well, i’m good.
i only read m/f or reverse harem so that’s also a thing.
tbh if you can think on non-romance books that fit this (ie found family esc stuff) i’ll take it.
the only example i can think of is variant lost by Kaydence Snow, but i skipped over all the smut (not much thankfully) and it wasn’t as soul destroying as i would have liked. unperfect by susie tate also fits well, but again, would love more angst.
any reccs?
also if you can find a thread that has good reccs like these, can you send it to me? i’ve been browsing for a while struggling to find something
