I'm trying to get better versed in having discussions on politics, with an emphasis on American politics, economy, foreign policy, and proxy wars (Ukraine). What would you recommend?
Bonus points if it's on audible.

As a starter, I just got A People's History of the United States in audible

Honestly, the Constitution. It’ll provide a lot of context over what should and should not be going on when you read all your other stuff

    2. Who Rules The World? – Noam Chomsky

      Washington Bullets – Vijay Parishad

      Top pick absolute must read:
The Shock Doctrine – Naomi Klein

Don’t have anything specific to Ukraine and NATO proxy wars at the moment. I guess I just listen to podcasts for that stuff. There is a good documentary series on Netflix at the moment about 20th century history.

Read Rick Perlstein’s books about the rise of the conservative movement—Before the Storm, Nixonland, Reaganland. He is on the left and was well respected on the right till he wrote about their god, Ronald Reagan. His books are long but super engaging and informative.

    4. The Power Worshippers by Katherine Stewart (chronicles the rise of the religious right and why Republicans are all religious nutjobs these days).
