My dad and I are driving for 20 hours this coming week and need something to listen to. We both read a lot – he tends towards typical Old White Guy stuff like historical non-fiction and then maybe John Grisham-esque novels; I like Tana French, Celeste Ng, Ruth Ozeki, and most of the popular “literary fiction” that comes out (my favorite books are the ones that have some sort of family trauma where everyone turns out okay). I think our tastes converge on mysteries – something like Tana French or Lauren Beukes would be perfect, but I’ve already read all of their books.
