Spent most of my time back in high school reading. Most of it was written by Rick Riordan, but was also very interested in Game of Thrones and Lord of the Rings. I'm now 22 and would appreciate recommendations based on those. I never really ventured outside of those genres though, so I wouldn't mind trying something different.

If you’re looking for some more adult Greek myth, Circe and The Song of Achilles by Madelleine Miller both tell adult stories set around Greek mythology. Each book is standalone, even though they both cover Greek myths.
You might like The Priory of the Orange Tree by Samantha Shannon. It’s an epic fantasy series with a big, fascinating world and a large cast of characters like ASOIAF.
The Poppy War by R.F. Kuang might also interest you. It’s focused on one character’s journey like PJO, with a god-based magic system that is sort of similar, but it’s more morally complicated and the tone is much darker. I thought it was overhyped because I was seeing it everywhere, so I expected to be disappointed, but it really is very good.
