Heading to France to visit Paris and the French Riviera in a couple of weeks. Would love a few novels to read to immerse myself in the culture, geography, food, traditions and maybe a little history.
Authors I like (in no particular order) are Anne Patchett, Barbara Kingsolver, Kate Morton, Diana Gabaldon, Rosamunde Pilcher, Maeve Binchey, Anne Enright, just to name a few.

a year in provence. peter mayle has written several great books about living in france, and this is my favorite. really delves into the day to day culture of life in rural france.
