If I like the former, will I like the latter? I like how the Joke Like books have this sense of sincerity and self-awareness at the same time. The writing can feel intentionally corny or dated. I like that the action can be succinct but important. It comes it the right doses, but not too unbelievable. Like, I'm sure the stuff in the book happens, just maybe not in the exact way. I like the humor, but there's still an exotic filter when I picture what I'm reading.
