Very interested in reading more on real life politics, preferably geopolitically important novels and courtroom / court cases. Perhaps a memoir.
(I also really loved Conclave even if it was fictional, but I'd love something like that, with actual politics and elections etc.)

“Keeping the Faith” by Brenda Wineapple is a fantastic account of the Scopes Trial. So it’s not recent, but it’s worthwhile.
“The Jakarta Method” by Vincent Bevins or “The Shock Doctrine” by Naomi Klein
The Brainwashing of My Dad is anecdotal, a story about how the rise of talk radio contributed to one man’s conversion into a full on right wing nut job. It’s pretty fascinating and remarkably relevant
(There is discussion of laws that fed into this, but no court cases)
