Another extremely disturbing read I’m having right now is Triptych by Karin Slaughter (yes, after I read Pretty Girls I went after other books by her). She usually writes things and includes very sensitive themes in all her books; this one is no exception. The book is quite graphic and explicit in terms of description, very descriptive and full of details.
Here is the synopsis:
“A cold-blooded killer is terrorizing Atlanta. Whether young or old, rich or poor, in the upscale suburbs or the housing projects, he seems to know no boundaries. The detectives investigating the case may need to know no boundaries either to find him. Among them are veteran Detective Michael Ormewood—whose marriage is on the rocks and whose arrogance is threatening his career—and Angie Polaski, a beautiful narcotics cop who was Michael’s lover before becoming his bitter enemy. To their surprise, the key to solving the case may lie in the hands of an ex-convict who stumbles upon the killer’s trail.”
