Fuck book recommendations, what’s your book UNreccomendations?
In middle school I had a friend who had a list on goodreads titled “books I’d rather put a bullet in my head than read again”. What’s your personal contribution to that list?
I grew up in a deeply religious family, for som context.

I think this is a fairly unoriginal answer, but “Atlas Shrugged”. I’m still bitter about every second I spent on it.

Oathbringer by Brandon Sanderson. I loved the first two books in the series but I hated Oathbringer so much I almost quit halfway though. I powered through but if I could go back in time I would tell myself not to. The series was all downhill from there

A Separate Peace. For some reason reading this book made me feel like I was dragging sandbags through mud. I’ve been told it’s actually really good and I should give it another chance, but I can’t bring myself to do so.

Neuromacer is straight garbage in my opinion. Gibson’s prose are choppy and hard to read and there’s a lot of uncomfortable sexist and questionable consensual android sex stuff. I know it’s considered a sci-fi classic and the progenitor of cyber-punk, but I just found it to be a chore to read with uncomfortable content,
