You know those books that you fully immerse yourself in, that leave you feeling depressed when they're over because you were so wrapped up in the characters and the storyline, and you suddenly realize you have to go back to reality when they end?
Suggest me the book that left you feeling that way. I'm having a big surgery in a few weeks and need some good suggestions, especially for when I'm in the hospital ❤️

1984 is the book that had impact on me
1) House of Sand and Fog by Andre Dubus III
2) Almost every book by John Irving including the really early stuff
I have one but it has some very nsfw elements, so it depends on what your tastes are.
Animal Farm gave me things to talk about for a long time after reading it. Clearly the reason that it’s so short, is because it made its point in 94 pages and didn’t need to embellish. It is always on my mind.
