Books where everything goes wrong and also it’s way too cold (or hot)?

I read Into Thin Air and The Terror and something about snuggling in while reading about people freezing makes my day as nothing else does. Call me sadistic, but are there any other books you loved which picture people in terrible environmental circumstances?
