Book recommendations for storytelling?

I've always struggled with expressing myself through stories. I'm particularly interested in classic literature that demonstrates a beautiful a d compelling way in self-expression. If anyone has recommendations on books that excel in narrative style, I'd love to hear them. I prefer classics over self-help though.
