Hi all, I'd like to read something in the historical fiction genre BUUUTTTT….
I don't want to read anything sad or heavy. Also, I don't want a super long book. I'd like something with a fast pace, easy to read and get lost in, preferably more lighthearted, if it exists.
It can be in English or Spanish, although I would prefer not anything by Isabel Allende as I've read her a lot and would like a different writing style.

The Rose Code by Kate Quinn. It’s not short but it is fast paced. For something short and easy to read (but not really lighthearted), I’d recommend The Last Deaf Club in America by Raymond Luczak or Love & Saffron by Kim Fay.
Try Shadows of Freedom, by Andrew M F Grafton
