    What would you recommend me?
I am into psychology, understanding complex emotions, good stories. I have read multiple works for destoevesky and enjoyed a couple.

I don’t really know what to expect from reading, but i know i want to feel connected to a story, to have something born within me that stays, and perhaps helps me articulate my thoughts better and offer inspirations.

I’d also love if i got to understand new things from reading, i know this might sound silly especially for regular readers, but i do appreciate having new takes on life that i can add into my takes collection and live by.

I think i appreciate this even more now considering tiktok brain rot :))).

So what do you think i should go buy this week?

Not a specific recommendation, but use your library. Unlimited books (movies music games etc) for free!

Librarians can give you recommendations based on what you like, and tell you about local events like book clubs, concerts, and speakers. Also your card could give you access to library apps where you can borrow books right to your phone, which is really convenient

    3. I really like what you say about helping you articulate your thoughts! I think this is a big reason why I read.

It’s hard for me to recommend anything without knowing more your tastes but might I suggest the following: look at the recently announced international booker long list (https://thebookerprizes.com/the-booker-library/prize-years/international/2025) and just read through what each one is about then choose the one that seems the most intriguing to you!

I’ve found recently that keeping up with contemporary books has helped me stay excited about books as well. It’s similar to the feeling of a new film coming out or seeing which film wins at a festival!

    4. Stranger in a Strange Land by RA Heinlein. Human culture and relationships through the eyes of a young human raised by Martians.

Also Remarkably Bright Creatures by Shelby Van Pelt. Human relationships with an alien species right here at home.

I’ve been into reading books about what happens after you die, I think you might like them since they gave me a new perspective on life.

The Midnight Library by Matt Haig, I think its pretty good. It’s about the idea of revisting your regrets after you die and how that life turns out if you made the opposite choice. But there’s ppl who says it gives a bad take in mental health but I didn’t mind it.

Under the Whispering Door by T.J Klune, I just finished this one and It’s aout becoming a ghost and understanding the emotions you feel when you die and the process of accepting your dead. There’s romance in there which was alright.

A Dog’s purpose, I read this when I was like preteen and I want to reread it again. Its about a dog’s perspective on life and what’s their purpose on each life they live. (the book is better than the movie btw)

Also you should try Libby and Hoopla, its reading apps that connects to ur library card. Libby has lots of options but if the book is popular then u might have to put a hold on it and wait for bit. Hoopla is instant click and read thing but you have a limit to 5 titles per month and its pretty limited. Both are free tho 😛

I would recommend the silent patient

It’s a bit confusing at first but really helps you get into the mindset of the characters, as it’s about a therapist trying to get a patent to open up about why she killed her husband as well as the therapists life outside of work

      Very good psychological thriller!
