Book recs for post surgery down time?

Hey everyone! My mom was recently diagnosed with breast cancer and is having surgery this Thursday. After that, she’ll be going through a few weeks of radiation, so she has a lot of rest and recovery time ahead.

She and I both love to read, so I thought this would be the perfect time to start a little book club with her and my sister-in-law. I’d love some recommendations to kick things off!

We both enjoy murder mysteries, but for our first book, I’m looking for something a little more lighthearted—maybe a mystery with some fun, gossipy drama that’s easy to chat about. Any suggestions?
