I've just finished Sunrise on the Reaping and I'm looking for any books or book series that are gripping and can excite me as much as (or close to) the Hunger Games.
John Marsden: Tomorrow, When the War Began + sequels

Battle Royale – Koushun Takami

I’m on chapter 26 and I’m not ready for it to be over!!!
I really liked the “Uglies” series by Scott Westerfeld. Apparently Netflix is making a series adaptation of the books but I don’t have Netflix.

*Chain Gang All Stars by Nana Kwame Adjei-Brenyah* is the prison industrial complex, gladiator, exploitative reality tv, para social relationship version of the hunger games.
It’s an excellent book and in our times seems like a plausible route for the collective dystopian hell we are living lol.

Dungeon Crawler Carl by Matt Dinniman.
It’s pretty similar to hunger games, but more fast paced, with perhaps a bit of “hitchhikers guide to the galaxy” mixed in. Very well done, and funny. I highly recommend.
