I am a high school English teacher. For a unit, we have a choice book (book club). Our team is planning on purchasing additional books since the school is growing.
One issue that the team has realized is that male students seem far more reluctant to read than their female contemporaries. As we looked deeper, we noticed that most YA books seem to either be aimed towards women, and/or have a female protagonist. (There is nothing wrong with either of these things, but we think that this could be part of the reason why the male students struggle a little more)
I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for YA books that were geared towards a male audiences.
Some ideas that I have had are Mistborne, Sunrise On the Reaping, Red Rising, etc.
Any suggestions would be appreciated
