One of my favourites is better than the movies by Lynn painter and I want something similar to it. Witty writing and just very cute and swoon worthy in general.
Or like a good romcom even without the friends to lovers. Thanks!
If you’re into that witty, swoony, friends-to-lovers vibe, definitely check out *Love and Other Words* by Christina Lauren. It’s got that perfect balance of past and present storytelling, with the two leads reconnecting after years apart. The friendship-to-first-love progression is super heartfelt, and the banter feels natural without being overdone. It leans a bit more emotional than *Better Than the Movies*, but still keeps that warm, romantic tone that pulls you in and makes you root for the characters from page one.
Another great romcom (even if it’s not exactly friends-to-lovers) is *The Unhoneymooners*, also by Christina Lauren. It’s more enemies-to-lovers, but the dialogue is sharp, the chemistry is top-tier, and it’s just a really fun ride overall. If you liked Lynn Painter’s fast-paced, clever writing style, you’ll probably vibe with this one too. It’s light enough to enjoy in a weekend but still hits those “aww” moments hard.
