Any genre is welcome, though, I would prefer to keep the mood light. Some of my preferred genres include:

    Adventure

    Sci-Fi/Fantasy

    Historical Fiction

    Biography

    Mystery

    Non-fiction

    1. These first three are by John Scalzi:

**Starter Villain** is the most entertaining book I’ve read recently. It’s a spoof of the early James Bond movies. A substitute teacher inherits his estranged uncle’s villainy which comes complete with a secret volcanic lair.

**The Kaiju Preservation Society** is … sci-fi fun and Bond-like.

**Redshirts** is a satirical look at space operas from the point-of-view of ‘expendable’ crew.

Yahtzee Croshaw’s **Will Save the Galaxy For Food** follows a space pilot scrounging a living after being put out of work by technology advances. The protagonist is a mashup of Han Solo and Crocodile Dundee.

[I don’t know if any of the above are in audio.]

Non-fiction **What If?: Serious Scientific Answers to Absurd Hypothetical Questions** by Randall Munroe narrated by Wil Wheaton.

It consists of a series of questions on pop-sci and pop-culture, each answered in one or two paragraphs. The answers are hilarious in a dry-humored way.

An example question is: What would happen if you hit a baseball pitched at 90% of the speed of light?
