I don't mean a tearjerker exactly! I'm not interested in something that's just very sad. I mean something that shocks and horrifies me in a tragic kind of way.
I just read the novella "Nothing But The Rain" by Naomi Salman. My god, that ending was bleak. I felt real, physical pain in my chest and now I'm craving more. More pain please!
I generally only read books written by women with female protagonists, but I'm willing to read about men if you sell me on it!
