I don’t know how else to explain what I’m looking for and it might be hard to make a suggestion for. What comes to mind is like a rainy northwestern forest or something. I’m just looking for something that really gives off a “comfy” vibe. It can be any genre really (except horror, but suspense/thriller is fine) and it doesn’t have to be super outstanding, I’m just looking to read something that kind of matches my mood, not exactly something that’s going to hook me with an insane plot or anything (although it’s fine if it does).

Louise Penny’s Inspector Gamache series, they’re very rooted in different seasons and set in a small village in the woods outside Montreal. Booksellers and artists sitting in a bistro drinking cafe au lait.
Possession by AS Byatt too, where two academics retrace a love story between the 19th century romantic poets they specialise in, across the north of England and Brittany.
North Woods by Daniel Mason is the story of one house over several generations in Massachusetts.
And, as always, the Secret History!
A Novel Love Story by Ashley Poston is set in a fictional small town where it rains every afternoon so that might fit the bill lol
I just finished Middletide by Sarah Crouch and it is set in the Pacific Northwest and has that vibe.
