Looking for fiction or nonfiction. Any genre. I love checking the new releases section of my library and I’d like to hear what people have been enjoying.
I discovered a great sword and sorcery book called Vengeance and Honour by Ben Dixon. It was an exciting quest adventure with funny moments and great characters. I’m looking forward to a sequel.

Ask me in a couple months and hopefully I’ll be answering *The Devils* by Joe Abercrombie.
Currently, it’s *Once was Willem* by M.R. Carey. Historical fiction/Horror/Fantasy.

**Yellowface** by R.F. Kuang had me hooked—funny, dark, and painfully accurate about publishing + identity
also really liked **The Wager** by David Grann
nonfiction but reads like a novel
shipwrecks, mutiny, British naval chaos… 10/10 pacing
been meaning to check out **Birnam Wood** too—heard it’s like eco-thriller meets social satire
what genres are you vibing with most lately? might have more recs depending on your mood

Wild Dark Shore by Charlotte McConaghy and Buffalo Hunter Hunter by Stephen Graham Jones. They have set a very high bar for the rest of the year.

“Black Woods Blue Sky” by Eowyn Ivey. Really enjoyable – a bit of magical realism (I would not call this a Fantasy at all). Set in Alaska.
