I’m a regular reader but haven’t read a book in the past two months. Now, I’m starting again and looking for the best book to ease back into reading.
I’m considering:
- A Man Called Ove
- Animal Farm
- Metamorphosis
- The Vegetarian
- The Bell Jar
- Gunaho Ka Devta
- No Longer Human
- To Kill a Mockingbird
- A Little Life
Which one would be the most suitable to help me get back into reading? Also, feel free to suggest more books.

The only book I’ve read on your list is *To Kill a Mockingbird* but I’m not sure that’s the vibe I’d shoot for if I wanted an “ease back into reading” kind of book. It’s a classic of course, but it’s kinda heavy and when I want to “ease” myself back into reading, I prefer something that doesn’t quite cut so deep, or is just generally more fun in subject matter.
One of the most fun, interesting, and hilarious books I’ve read recently is *Snow Crash* by Neal Stephenson. It’s a perfect combination of satire and genuine plot for my money. Feels equal parts silly and intellectual and tickled my brain in all the right ways.
I loved A Man Called Ove. It’s a little heavy in terms of subject matter (if suicide/depression is triggering for you be aware of that, even though it’s ultimately a hopeful book) but it’s very easy to read so I think it would be a good one
