I grew up loving fantasy and its what got me into reading initially and has always been the genre ive gravitated towards. Deltora Quest got me into reading in third grade and I just started to go back through the audio books because they were free on youtube and they were great while I am working with my hands , but im looking to get back into the act of reading again.
My favorite series were:
Deltora Quest
Edge Chronicles
Eragon
Rangers Apprentice & Brotherband chronicles
honorable mentions would be
Beyonders
Hobbit and some of LOTR
One ill add later but cant quite remember when writing
I love stories of pirates, rogues and rangers. Im looking for a series similar to these as I would like to find that spark again. Deltora quest had a relatively simple world to understand but fantastical quests and creatures. Edge Chronicles had deep imaginative lore, imagery and such a lived in world. Rangers Apprentice and Brotherband had engaging characters and such a cool setting. Loved almost the cliches of the characters being RPG classes but the adventures in each book in a very grounded fantasy world aside from the first two rangers books. Eragon just had so much to the world and while im not crazy about dragons the world building was good and I liked it as a medium for some commentary on life. I understand these are all children's books and I am okay with more recommendations of children's/YA books but am an adult now and would appreciate more adult recommendations too. I apologize if this is a bit jumbled and confusing just super excited to get this out there, I can clarify on any points if needed, but really a melting pot of all of these books would be amazing.
