My husband and I are going on a road trip and I love listening to audio books. Looking for recommendations we'd both like. We don't like crime or anything sad. He likes true stories of human achievement (like stories of pilots, astronauts, rail roads etc) and I like classics, funny books, historical etc really anything that's not sad or crime as I mentioned above.

Hi! Not an audio book, but i recommend the podcast The Dollop. It’s a history podcast, and it’s hilarious. One host has the story the other doesn’t know what it’s about. And Garreths reactions to the obscurity of the stories is hilarious. My partner and I are always traveling and this is one podcast we go to. It’s definitely worth a shot. IMHO.
Safe travels friend!
Ps. I now realize what sub I’m in. But I’m sticking to my suggestion.
House in the Cerulean Sea is a wonderful audiobook. And it’s a lovely story.
If he is okay with fake human achievement, there are several sci-fi books I can think of that involve human achievement that are also funny and don’t involve crime. The Martian, Project Hail Mary, the Dungeon Crawler Carl series, and the Expeditionary Force series. And they are all amazing audiobooks, particularly Dungeon Crawler Carl.
