Big fan of BEE’s style of writing. Very cold, shallow, detached, mundane with hints of ultra-violence and extreme themes.

Are there any other authors or novels which roughly replicate this style of writing? I’ve read all his books sometimes 2 or 3 times and would like to branch out.
    Thanks in advanced!

    1. Boy Parts by Eliza Clark is like a gender-switched American Psycho. Excellent read!

Also Anyone’s Ghost by August Thompson reminds me Ellis in its style of prose but the characters aren’t as rotten in it. Definitely worth a read though it’s a bit sad.

Filth by Irvine Welsh. Same sort of tone and matches the extreme themes in BEEs books.

I always found Chuck Palahniuk pretty similar with the gore/dark humour.

A somewhat older writer, Patricia Highsmith, wrote suspense novels in a detached, cold and superficially shallow manner, with violence and chaos always lurking.
