I want something that speaks to feminine rage, oppression, and rebellion except I don't like "real world" books. I need some level of fantasy or dystopia to keep me entertained. I'm in a serious dry spell and the only books that have held my interest in the past ~12 months was when I devoured Sunrise on the Reaping and then re-read the hunger games series in under 3 days.
I'm generally not a fan of male protagonists and they don't usually hold my interest. I'm also a bit picky about writing styles but can push past it if the story is interesting enough. Women authors are also basically all I read. I'm also at that awkward time where teen novels don't really appeal to me anymore, but it's hard to find what I like in books that are made for more "mature" audiences since I'm also what one might call a "prude" and generally don't enjoy steamy/risqué series unless that's what I'm specifically looking for.
If it's any help I tried the Throne of Glass books and was incredibly bored. I enjoyed the Graceling Realm and Falling Kingdoms series.
I know, it's probably a big ask, but I'll take anything at this point. Good reads suggestions never seam to have the piece that I'm actually looking for.
Thank you in advance for anything you can offer.
