I have had The Wedding People by Alison Espach on my Libby holds for a while now. I didn’t know much about it, just that it’s been highly recommend. It finally came in and I was so excited to read it! I then saw on StoryGraph a trigger warning about miscarriage. I’m 11 weeks pregnant right now – do you think it’s a bad idea to read the book right now? I’m not sure how prominent it is in the book/ how graphic. Would it be better to wait until after I give birth to read?

It wouldn’t bother me. I feel like it was overhyped. It was a delightful surprise. I thought it was going to be something else. It was cute.
I read it a couple of weeks ago, and I don’t even remember a miscarriage… if that tells you anything. The book is very light, in my opinion. Good read.
I just finished this book! There’s a pretty brief description of a miscarriage (just one passage really, and it isn’t graphic imo), but there are recurring themes of infertility if that’s a potential trigger as well.
I started reading it while I was pregnant and finished it after my most recent miscarriage. A mild spoiler as it’s revealed very early on – the protagonist is initially depressed due to fertility struggles including a miscarriage. I put the book down for a bit when I was going through the miscarriage because it was obviously quite raw, but enjoyed the book overall.
I just read that book. I have no memory of a miscarriage so it couldn’t have been that impactful. Definitely wasn’t a big part of the book
