Hi, all! I would love some book suggestions for someone who enjoys historical fiction, but wants to read clean books. My definition of clean is no sex, limited cussing (I can handle a few words here and there but would like it to not be on every page), and preferably nothing too gory. Not picky about the historical era. I know it’s a tall order, but any ideas?

    1. If you’re interested in the Civil War, Andersonville by MacKinley Kantor won the Pulitzer Prize. It is an inside view of the Andersonville prisoner-of-war cam in Georgia. More than 25% of the soldiers sent there died there, over 13,000 men. It is obviously a grim read. There is a lot about the cliques that formed, trade among prisoners and with outsiders, food (or lack of), etc.
