I’m leaving soon for a 6-week cycling trip around Ireland, and am also seriously considering a move there in the next couple years. I’m pretty open on genre (mostly read novels or narrative non-fiction) but I’m trying to get a good little list going for before and during my trip, so nothing overly long/dense. Just really looking to learn more about the history, people, culture, etc.
Thanks in advance!

[Prophet Song](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prophet_Song) by Paul Lynch. An excellent but disturbing and heartbreaking story.

Sebastian Barry’s books might also work for you?
Skippy Dies by Paul Murray is one of my favorite novels. Fantastic! His latest, The Bee Sting, was shirtlisted for tge Booker. It’s very good.
The Sean McDuffy series of police novels by Adrian McKinty are awesome.
