Hello, I have not read a book in years (other than textbooks) but would like to get back into reading, I'm just struggling to find a book I would like to read. I read one second after in high school and would like something similar. My biggest issue is that I'm burnt out on politics and I often find that books are a veil for the authors political opinions, I would like to avoid that if possible. I don't mind politics in the book (I don't think I could even avoid it in this type of book) but I would like to avoid "the bad guy looks and acts the exact same way as this political figure I don't like" type of stuff. I saw one second after has sequels and I'm considering them but I'll probably have to re-read the first book and I don't know if I want to do that or start fresh. I'm looking for something realistic (EMP, War, Nukes, Bio-weapons) not zombies please. Thank you for your time and your help!
