Beowulf read as someone with little Germanic tales knowledge

as the title say , i am thinking of reading Beowulf , but i have no idea which translation to choose , or if i need to read some sort of texts of essay before to truly appreciate it

i heard that it is better to know some of the germanic folklore before reading it , wich i dont .

i aspire to make the most out of it , knowledge and relatively enjoyement wise , so please advise me .
