I'm wanting some of these authors other books based on the books of theirs that I've already read and enjoyed, thanks!
Cormac McCarthy – The road
John Steinbeck – East of Eden, Of mice and men
Harlan Ellison – A boy and his dog (short story)
Kurt Vonnegut – not actually read any of his but want to know what to start with
Multiple books from any of the above are fine by me or by any other authors that are similar, but generally I like depressing/dystopia books and I don't mind sci-fi.Thanks in advance!

Slaughterhouse 5 is probably Kurt Vonnegut’s most well known book, but I’m personally preferential to Cat’s Cradle. If you’re wanting a new author with a similar vibe, I’d recommend Douglas Adams. Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy is a wonderful classic, and I’m a fan of Long Dark Tea Time of the Soul too.
