Recently finished Nightfall by Asimov. So beware, spoilers ahead.
I enjoyed the book. Solid read. Maybe a 7/10.
But one of the things I liked most was understanding what was really happening to the world (just) before the character said it outright. We had archaeological, psychological and astronomical insights and suddenly it all clicked. Why the gravitational theory had a gap and what was coming (the eclipse, the fire, everything). 10 pages later, one of the characters confirms my hypothesis. I look for books that give me a similar feeling.
Well-constructed worlds/stories/mysteries that give you enough to figure it out before the characters do. Not looking for lore-crafting. More like solving a puzzle.
