I’ve recently been struggling with the loss of a loved one, and I’ve found it hard to process everything. I’ve always been someone who turns to books for comfort, but this time it feels different. I’m looking for recommendations that dive deep into grief, healing, and how people cope with life after loss.

I’m not necessarily looking for self-help books, but more novels or memoirs that deal with these themes in a realistic, raw way. Has anyone found a book that helped them through tough times like this? Something that really makes you feel seen or understood? I’d appreciate any suggestions.

The Accidental Tourist by Anne Tyler

      Saint Maybe by Anne Tyler

      Hamnet by Maggie O’Farrell

      Wave by Sonali Deraniyagala

      Home by Marilynne Robinson

Also. Not a novel or memoir, but a simple book I often recommend for people who are grieving, which is a collection of quotes/intentions/prompts for reflection for each day of the year:

Healing After Loss by Martha Whitmore Hickman
