I was in a really good reading pattern at the beginning of the year, but have since gotten into a bit of a slump and need something to get me back out of it. I read a few heavier books (Kafka and some nonfiction) and then over corrected with some books that were just either badly written or super cliche (Fundamentally and I'm so thrilled for you). Some things I've read and really enjoyed this year:
- Greta and Valdin by Rebecca Reilly
- Big Swiss by Jen Beagin (although I'm not sure I want to read something so unhinged again right now)
- The wedding people by Alison Espach
- What you can see from here by Mariana Leky
- Yellowface by R.F. Kuang
Basically pretty main stream stuff by female authors seems to be my vibe, but I'm not into fantasy or romance really, and I'm looking for something with a bit more to it than a Liane Moriarty type of beach read.
ETA: I quite like detective fiction, but I'm really not into psychological thrillers (Lucy Foley type books).
Thanks in advance!!
