I'm in search of a couple of books that are about (or is heavily on-theme) the power in knowing how to read. I'm thinking something in the vein of "Educated" by Tara Westover or books about Malala Yousafzai… but they're more on the right to education. They can be about what could happen if people can't read texts for themselves ("Handmaid's Tale" may be somewhat related?), a story of overcoming thanks to reading, or authors who write about writing/ reading (like "On Writing" by Stephen King). Or something else that is related. I'm also thinking a book about Frederick Douglass… but what am I missing?
It can be fiction, it can be pop-science books, history books etc. The only thing that it cannot be is a textbook
