I see a lot of posts about Reddit users’ favorite children’s books, but not so many about what their children like to read! I don’t have kids, but am working to become a children’s writer, so I’m doing a bit of research.
I’d love to know: what books are your kids’ favorites? What do they like about them? Would especially love to hear from those who have MG and YA-aged children.

bold of you to assume i have kids
So I can’t speak for my kids considering how I don’t have any but I did take a Children’s Literature class this semester in Uni and a couple that stuck out to me were *Haroun and the Sea of Stories* by Salman Rushdie & the audio recording of *Peter and The Wolf* by David Bowie (it’s very reminiscent of old how old Disney movies used sound).
As for a personal favourite, I’ve recently discovered *Owl Knight* by Christopher Denise and am absolutely in love with it. From the fun story to the beautifully adorable images, what’s not to love?
Alice in wonderland, goosebumps, little house on the prairie, Arthur, captain underpants, anything by Dr Seuss, etc
My favorite YA book is Walter Mosely’s “47” [47 – Zinn Education Project](https://www.zinnedproject.org/materials/47-book/)
I’d say a snapshot of my four-year-old daughter’s story tastes rely on the topic she’s presently into, like nature or dinosaurs. Though she does like Arthur and Dr. Seuss.
