Hey everyone,
I have always noticed that whenever I liked a book (which happened once in a while, I read it with alot of passion and enjoyed it) I have liked books of different genres, mostly nothing in common between their genres.
I have been craving to find a good book but it has been years since I read a book with interest, I read this book I can make you thin by Paul McKenna and since it was a thinner book, I finished it in three days, I absolutely enjoyed my time reading it. But now I'm again in search of something I would like to read.
I really want to find a genre that I like, I have read books regarding food and body, some religious books and some fiction, I feel I enjoy books about people's actual experiences and also I want to reduce the time I spend on doomscrolling and I feel reading a book is the best way to do that.
Please help me!

Have you read any non-fiction thriller types? Like Into Thin Air, Killers of the Flower Moon, Endurance? Things that actually happened but also read like a novel. Under the Banner of Heaven by John Krakauer is a very good account of a murder woven into the history of the Mormon religion. Very interesting, couldn’t put it down.
Try The Dark Tower series by Stephen King. The first is the Gunslinger
I’d recommend Twelve Years a Slave by Solomon Northup, or The Long Walk to Freedom by Nelson Mandela.
Based on what you’ve said, I think you’d enjoy both.
If you enjoy parables I’d also recommend The Celestine Prophecy or Way of the Peaceful Warrior.
I hope you rediscover your love of reading!
