Is she British or does she just like thrillers set in Britain?
Has she read sequel to The Handmaid’s Tale? It’s called The Testaments and I really enjoyed it
The Cuckoo’s Calling by Robert Galbraith. 1st book in a series of murder mysteries solved by the same British detective. I know there’s some debate about supporting her work, but it’s by J.K.Rowling under a different pen name.
Has she read any Liz Nugent? Irish thriller writer. Skin Deep is my favourite, Strange Sally Diamond is her newest.
Would she be interested in Dark Academia and rather “long” books? If yes I would suggest Babel by R.F. Kuang. The plot happen in Oxford
If she is interested is cosy romance I would suggest The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches by Sangu Mandanna. The plot happen in Norfolk.
For classics that would feel a bit like Into the Wild, even more so if she is an animal and dog lover, White Fang and The Call of the Wild by Jack London. It’s set in the Great North rather than in Britain but those books just feel like taking a trip into the wilderness.
