yes, im probably ok, but i just really like SUPER sad books, and have been on a reading slump. so reccommend me some super sad books.
bonus if its more realist style – eg a person facing some really hard challenge, dont rlly like scifi dystopia style
so far some ive really liked/are along the "really sad" books style I want reccomendations for are
– The Other Side of Tomorrow – Hayley Lawrence
– One – Sarah Crossan
– A Thousand Boy Kisses + A thousand broken pieces – Tillie Cole
– The Paper Menagerie – ken Liu.
Thanks!

A little life broke me, twice. Its the best and worst book at the same time for me. Just be aware of the triggerwarnings, there are plenty. I also started the great believers and i fear it will leave me devestated as well.
This is an incredibly common request. You might try searching in the sub
Shuggie Bain, by Douglass Stuart. It’s about a gay boy growing up in poverty in Glasgow in the 80’s with his alcoholic mother, told from both characters perspectives. Won the booker prize in 2020, definitely recommend it!
