Sorry if this is the wrong place to ask about this but I'm looking for a book where the MC does something wrong(in-dangers there life, destroys something precious, not sure) by accident to someone close to him(possibly/probably family) and the MC being ashamed/upset leaves/runs away and when tracked down doesn't believe the person really forgives him and refuses to go back, possibly had a bad end for the MC but not 100% sure.
If you can suggest any books that have even a little of that it would be super helpful in finding the right one.
